Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American performer and actor who started her career through innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a an edgy, comical perspective. Her career then grew to Hollywood. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents from Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came via the trumpet. Later, she began traditional and hip-hop training. When she was in college, she concentrated on her studies. She studied women's studies as well as journalism. In a short period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. After graduating, it wasn't until when she decided to turn her attention to music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet sensation and featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitchethe cost of $. The latter song was linked directly with another Awkwafina project NYC a travel guide published in 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers after having completed her two previous ventures as a musician and author.
